The partition of India

Since the partition occuried in 14 August 1947, India also won its freedom from its colonial rule. For me, it was the most tragic of all indian history because the partition created a war and lose. However, from Delhi to Chandigrah and to Leh, i become more confident that the partition is involved in many particular area.
In Delhi, we'd been to many tombs and the monuments of the King; such as Humayun's tomb and the Traj Maha. I could see that the architecture itself represeting the Muslim's arcthiectural style, which made me complete believed that the Muslim and Hindu used to lived in peace.

Chandigrah was founded after the partition happened. This is because Lahore's city used to be the main town of North India, but the border made the city became part of Pakistan. Therefore, the government decided to renovated Chandigarh into a modern city and well plan. At this time, Le curbosiur was involved in deciding a city plan and the architecture. It was a movement of international style where the modernism became a main role of this city. For me, the partition gave a great opportunity to Chandigrah where they can learn and adapted a modernism into their traditional style. In comparison to Old Delhi, i think Chandigrah is revealing how modernism become the example of a good city. There is less traffic less pollution and clean.
During the journey from Chandigrah to Leh, we passed many border checks, this reminded me of a war between Pakistan and India. I could regonised that they both are fully preparing their military for a next war. i think the partition make the border become violent till these days. This wouldn't happen if the Britain left India without the partition.
The partition separated Muslim and Hindu into two countries. But in Leh, there is no partition, but there is peace between the Buddism and Hindu. This is revealing how two religion sharing a good relationship together. In this beautiful city, i can see that the Buddhist and Hindu lived in peace and very friendly. At the same time, it is very interesting to know that Leh and Kashmir are also part of the main conflict after the partition happened. There were three main conflict , "The First Kashmir War", "The Second Kashmir War" and "Kargil War". These is the conflict between Pakistan and India where they wanted "Kashmir" to become part of their land.
To conclude, I personally think that the partition had both advantages and disadvantages. It helped India to be independence and developed. At the same time, it left both India and Pakistan devastated. The partition led to the conflict and the conflict led to the war which resulted in lost of their leaders, such as Gandhi.
