what's going on in Leh

To start with, i recommend to watch this documentary by Helena Norberg-Hodge:
Ancient Futures, learning from Ladakh

Then you can get an idea of what happen last year during the floods by reading this article.

Following are associations active in Ladakh:

the International Society for Ecology and Culture

Ladakh Ecological Development Group - LEDeG

- INTACH - we will most probably work with them

- The Tibet Heritage Fund - we will most probably meet them

- and last but not least LAMO, with which we will closely collaborate (mud-brick manual + exhibition)

ps: do not forget to LABEL your posts please - this way we can organize the blog better (see the ones already created on the right)

Welcome again!!

......It seems that the first blog disappeared...

As promised, here are Laurie Baker's manuals:
http://lauriebaker.net/work/work/booklets-and-writing-by-laurie-baker.html

They will help you getting familiar with working in India, with mud as a material and brick as a construction system.

More soon!
